Our offer includes deaeration and defoaming in process lines for pulp and paper production, and in wastewater treatment plants.

Our proposed defoaming agents are also used in the production of coating colours for coated board and papers.

We tailor defoaming agents depending on the type of foam – chemical or mechanical – and the temperatures prevailing on the paper machine. Our offer includes water-based, oil-based and silicone-based defoamers-deaerators as well as hybrid agents. Air measurement is carried out using an EGT or GAS 60 instrument.

Why is it important to maintain proper aeration of your paper furnish?

Excessively high aeration of the furnish can have negative consequences such as impaired furnish freeness, increased consumption of heating steam in the PM drying section, impaired formation of and structural defects in the paper, web breaks, slime formation in vats, paper stock foaming, formation of spots and streaks in the web, pulsations in pipelines and equipment, fluctuations in consistency and grammage, accelerated wear of equipment, potential malfunction of some sensors, accumulation and release of hydrophobic substances in aerated zones due to unintentional stock flotation.

Increased paper stock aeration is impacted by higher paper machine speeds, lower PM wire retention, filler content in the paper stock, a decrease in pH and changes in microbiological balance.
